LG G5 vs LG G6 – What Sets them Apart?

The last year hasn’t been that good for LG. The South Korean tech manufacturer decided to create a modular smartphone and launched LG G5. Even though the marketing campaign went well, customers weren’t that inclined towards paying extra amounts of money for modular features. Therefore, LG G5 was a flop and LG decided to change up its game and this is where LG G6 comes into play.

The two smartphones are quite impressive when it comes to hardware performances, but today we’re going to see what sets them apart. This way, customers will be able to tell which smartphone fits their need the most and see how well LG has advanced its technology at the same time.

LG G5 vs LG G6: Display Technology

The modular LG G5 ships with a 5.3 inch panel that’s been fitted with IPS LCD technology. The display is able of offering a high pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560 and a large pixel density of 554 pixels per inch. On the other hand, we have LG G5 that ships with a large 5.7 inch panel that uses the same IPS LCD technology. There’s a difference though, LG G6 provides users with a slightly higher pixel resolution of 1440 x 2880 and a pixel density of 561.

LG G5 vs LG G6: Hardware Performance

Taking in consideration the the two smartphones have been launched one year apart from each other, we shouldn’t be surprised to see if they have been equipped with similar specs. First off, we have LG G5 that’s been equipped with a Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 820 chipset. The processor clocks at 2.2GHz and it is paired with an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

The newer LG G6 is fueled by Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 821 chipset. This processor is a bit faster because it clocks at 2.35GHz. In addition, the processor has also been coupled with the same Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

Although there might not be so many differences, LG G6 is definitely superior when it comes to hardware performances. Especially since customers won’t be required to purchase modular features such as a bigger battery, camera sensor and so on. Without any doubt, LG G6 is the winner of this brief comparison.
