iBall launches Andi 2 entry-level smartphone in India

Another new device has now been added to the ever growing arsenal of entry-level Android smartphones. The new smartphone comes from local company called iBall and it is called the iBall Andi 2.

This is an upgrade to the previously launched Andi smartphone from the same company and goes up against the various sub-10,000 INR smartphones in the Indian market. This smartphone is powered by a mere 800 MHz processor and runs Android 2.2 FroYo. This is really disappointing as almost all the new Android entry-level Android smartphone are now running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it has been quite some time since the launch of the new Android 4.0 ICS.

Regardless, the iBall Andi 2 has a 3.5-inch display, 3 megapixel rear camera, front facing VGA camera, 3G connectivity and supports microSD cards. The device is powered by a 1450 mAh battery.

We are not very impressed by this smartphone. Most importantly there are devices with better specifications available in the market for a slightly cheaper price. Probably, if the price comes down to 6,000 INR this device may have a chance of reaching a few pockets.
