Huawei Honor 8 vs Huawei P9 What Sets the two Smartphones Apart?

Huawei used to team up with Google and create smartphones that were branded under the Nexus lineup. The two companies have parted ways last year and decided to venture on the smartphone market on their own. In order to establish its brand as a household name, Huawei keeps on launching great devices all the time. In fact, its devices are even going against each other on the market.

Last year Huawei managed to take the market by storm when it launched two high-end smartphones, Honor 8 and P9 respectively. Even though both smartphones are produced by the same company, customers never know which one is worth their money. Today we’re going to clear this issue by comparing the two devices against each other and see what sets them apart in terms of hardware power.

Huawei P9 vs Huawei Honor 8: Hardware Power

We have decided to compare the two devices in the hardware department. Smartphones have become essential to our everyday lives and owning one that provides stable hardware performances is very important. Additionally, we chose not to go over their display because both of them ship with the same 5.2 inch full HD panel.

First off, Huawei P9 is fueled by a HiSilicon Kirin 955 octa-core chipset. The processor has four cores that clock at 2.5GHz and other four ones that have been clocked at 1.8GHz. Additionally, the Chinese manufacturer has coupled the processor with a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics processing unit and 3GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on the acquired model.

On the other hand, we have Huawei Honor 8 which is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core chipset. The processor features four cores that have been clocked at 2.3GHz and other four that clock at 1.8GHz. Huawei has also paired Honor 8’s processor with the same Mali-T880 MP4 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM.

Huawei P9 vs Huawei Honor 8: Conclusion

As everyone is able to see, there aren’t that many differences in the hardware department. P9 is a tad more powerful when it comes to processor clocking speed. Although, the difference isn’t that major and both smartphones can be considered equals when it comes to hardware performances. Nonetheless, we think it’s safe to say that both models offer the same hardware performances.
