HTC 10 Receives Android 7.0 Nougat from Verizon

We have some great news for HTC 10 owners. Verizon has announced that it’s going to start rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat starting today. We should mention that owners of unlocked HTC 10 devices have already received Android 7.0 Nougat since November of last year. In addition, T-Mobile and Sprint have already rolled out the incremental operating system update since February. Even though Verizon is the last one to arrive at the party, it’s always better late than never.

Android 7.0 Nougat

The operating system is being rolled out OTA (over the air) and it arrives under the “2.41.605.12” software version. Since the update is sent OTA, we advise HTC 10 owners to keep their eyes peeled at their notification panel because the operating system might pop up any time now. Additionally, anxious HTC 10 owners can always access the Settings – Software panel and download the update themselves.

Android 7.0 Nougat is a major upgrade over Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The new operating system enhances the Android user experience with the addition of a large number of tweaks, system enhancements and features. For example, HTC 10’s battery life is going to be prolonged because Android 7.0 Nougat brings the Doze feature which forcefully stops apps which are running on the background.

HTC 10’s notification panel is going to receive some major changes as well. The most important change is that HTC 10 users will be able to directly respond to social media notifications straight from the panel by long pressing on them. In addition, the smartphone’s multi-tasking abilities will enhanced with the addition of the multi-window mode. This feature gives users the ability to open two apps at the same time.

The processor has been clocked at 2.15GHz and it is paired with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM.
