HCL Launches Three New Android Tablets in India

HCL Infosystems has recently announced its HCL ME Android tablet line-up in the Indian market and it debuts with three new tablets which are now available for purchase. However, there some disappointment as the guys announced that the tablets will be running Android 2.2 FroYo. Two of the three tablets feature a 7-inch display and the third one touts a 10-inch display. The former two will be known as HCL ME AE7-A1 and HCL ME AM7-A1 while the latter 10-inch model is known as the HCL AP10-A1.

The HCL ME AE7-A1 is the most affordable of the three and hence is not the best when it comes to hardware. It runs Android 2.2, has a 7-inch resistive display, 2GB of internal storage, 256MB of RAM and a front facing camera. You can connect to the internet using WiFi and a data card. This tablet is equipped with an 800 MHz processor and is priced at Rs. 14,990. Seems like the most affordable tablet in India at this moment.

Next up is another tablet with a 7-inch display known as the HCL ME AM7-A1. It has a capacitive display, runs Android 2.2, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera along with gravity and light sensor. It is equipped with an 800 MHz processor and can be purchased for Rs. 22,990.

Finally we have the HCL ME AP10-A1 and it comes with a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen. It also runs Android 2.2 FroYo but has 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 1.3 megapixel camera, accelerometer and light sensor. This tablet is priced at Rs. 32,990 and is powered by a 1 GHz processor.

Detailed Specifications:

I don’t think any of these devices would be getting a Honeycomb update and if you are still interested in purchasing them then head over to the HCLStore and waste your money.
