Google Nexus 7 (2017) Does it Really Exist?

Google has been receiving some harsh criticism for leaving behind the Nexus brand in favor of the newer Pixel one, but it looks like Google isn’t done with the Nexus brand yet. All throughout last year rumors started popping up saying that Google is working on developing a brand new Nexus 7 tablet. The device was supposedly going to arrive in 2016 but as everybody knows by now, this didn’t happen. Google is now expected to unveil the tablet during 2017.

Nexus 7 (2017): Is it Coming?

The Android parent has yet to officially confirm that Nexus 7 (2017) will be launched this year, but all rumors and hints are showing that Google is actually just waiting for the right opportunity to do that. Google has even hinted towards Nexus 7 (2017)’s existence in one of its announcements. When Google announced that it’s not going to produce Chromebook Pixel laptops anymore, it stated that it wants to focus more on smartphones and tablets.

Additionally, rumor has it that Google’s latest Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are not selling that well in foreign countries. The Pixel brand is still new and it doesn’t benefit from the same recognition the Nexus one is. This is why everyone believes that Google wants to launch a brand new Nexus 7 tablet. This will give Google the opportunity to capitalize on foreign countries without interfering with Pixel and Pixel XL’s success.

We should mention that the first news about Nexus 7 (2017) have come as a courtesy of Evan Blass who leaked the device’s specs list. Evan Blass is a known and liable tech leakster that prides himself in the fact that he has one of the best records of predicting upcoming updates and devices. Therefore, we can safely say that Google is definitely planning something big.

Nexus 7 (2017): Operating System

Without any doubt, the reason why Nexus 7 (2017) is so highly anticipated is because it’s expected to ship with a new operating system. Rumors are pointing out the fact that Google wants to install Andromeda OS on the tablet. This operating system is the result of the combination between Chromebook OS and Android OS and it’s going to completely change the way Android powered devices function.

  1. Google Pixel phone not selling well in foreign countries? Here in Europe it is only being sold in UK and Germany. That is like it would only be sold in California and New York State. No wonder it is not selling well when it is not accessible in the majority of Europe and the rest of the world. Nexus products were being sold in much more countries compared to the Pixel line. But if Google is really serious about selling their devices they have to team up with resellers that start pushing it to common people who are only aware of either Apple or Samsung phones.
