Google Nexus 6P To Receive March Security Patch

We have great news for Nexus 6P owners. The network carrier known as Vodafone has announced that starting March 7th, Tuesday it will start rolling out the Android March security patch. The update will be rolled out OTA (over the air) and it will be quite small in size, weighing in at 39Mb. Nexus 6P owners should be happy to know that they will receive this incremental security update especially since the internet is filled with malicious software.

Nexus 6P Set To Receive March Security Patch

As previously mentioned, the update is fairly small in size but we still advise Nexus 6P owners to download it through a stable Wi-Fi connection. Additionally, Vodafone has announced that it will roll out the update systematically. This means that only 10,000 random Nexus 6P smartphones will receive the update each day. Vodafone has predicted that all existing Nexus 6P devices will be updated in the span of ten days.

We should mention that only Nexus 6P devices that already run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat are eligible to receive the security patch. Therefore, we advise Nexus 6P owners to keep their eyes peeled at their notifications panel during the upcoming days because the update notification should pop-up. In case the update doesn’t pop-up in the first days, Nexus 6P owners can check for it themselves by accessing Settings – About Device – System updates. The update will be listed under the “NF26T” build number. Worth mentioning is that Nexus 5X is more than likely the next smartphone in line to receive this security patch.

Nexus 6P: Specs

The smartphone is quite impressive in terms of hardware performances. The reason behind this is that Google decided to equip the smartphone with Qualcomm’s highly powerful octa-core Snapdragon 810 chipset. The processor has been clocked at 2.0GHz and it is paired with an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

Even better, the device is fueled by a large non-removable Li-Po 3,450 mAh battery which has been optimized to the point that it’s able to last for hours on end. Additionally, the smartphone supports fast charging features. The battery features up to 440 hours of (3G) stand-by time and up to 23 hours of (3G) talk time.
