Mozilla has confirmed March 22nd as the official release date for the fourth incarnation of their wildly popular, free, open source web browser, Firefox. The release candidate is already available and can be downloaded here. In fact, as of now, Mozilla is saying that the final official version will be the RC itself. Of course, just to be sure, they are figuring out some last minute stuff, including potentially icky bugs!
The timing of the release is quite interesting: just a few days after the release of IE 9. Last time around, the availability of the newest Firefox saw such great demand from netizens all around the world that a Guiness World Record was created for the sheer volume of downloads in a given period of time! Do we see a repeat performance in the pipeline? What do you guys think?
