Apple iPhone 8 Will Ship with a Innovative Front Facing Camera

This year marks the 10th year since Steve Jobs launched the first iPhone and Apple is expected to commemorate this by launching an innovative iPhone 8. Rumor has it that the Cupertino based tech giant wants to completely overhaul the design it uses on its smartphones. This shouldn’t surprise anyone since Apple received some harsh criticism last year for using the same smartphone design over and over.

Apple iPhone 8 Design Overhaul

The internet is buzzing with rumors about Apple’s upcoming smartphone design changes and the most reoccurring one is saying that Apple wants to implement a sleek looking edge-to-edge design. Apple’s biggest competitor Samsung has yet to unveil its highly anticipated Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone, but leaked pictures are showing that Samsung decided to use the same edge-to-edge panel. This is why we strongly believe that Apple wants to equip its device with this innovative display so that it’s able to compete against Samsung.

That’s not all, reports are showing that Apple has recently patented the following technology “Enhanced face detection using depth information”. This patent basically means that Apple has developed special software which detects depth face motions. The moment one or more faces have been detected, the software will assign a special window to each of the faces.

What’s interesting is that this isn’t the first time we hear about this technology. PrimeSense which is the tech company that designed the first Kinect has developed similar software. Seeing PrimeSense’s success, Apple decided to acquire the company and make full use of its technology.

We should mention that Ming-Chi Kuo who is a KGI analyst has stated that the upcoming iPhone 8 is going to ship with an innovative front camera. The reason why this statement matters is because Ming-Chi Kuo specializes in predicting upcoming Apple updates and devices and he is rarely wrong.

This “special” camera will more than likely feature an IRIS scanner as well, similar to Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone. This will definitely increase the user security Apple is able to provide its customers with. Nonetheless, we will be able to find out more information during September when Apple is slated to launch iPhone 8.
