WeChat messenger finds its way on to Mac
Messaging applications are getting extremely popular and amongst many one well known messaging application is WeChat. The WeChat messenger has now made its way to Apple computer as it is now available for Mac devices.
The application is already available for download and will come in English and Chinese languages at the moment. It will run on Apple computers running Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) and above.
One does not need to visit the Mac App Store to get this messaging application as it is available for download on WeChat’s official website as a .dmg format file. Once installed, it will display a QR code which has to be scanned by your phone and then you can start using the application on your Apple computer.
The application can then sync with your phone allowing users to continue chatting on WeChat even without using the phone.
WeChat now covers a total of seven different operating systems, making cross-platform messaging a lot more convenient. It is now available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry (BB10, OS 5.0 and OS 6.0 and above), Nokia (Series 40, Symbian S60 and Symbian Touch) and now on Macintosh. It also lets you sent messages through Windows using a web-browser based app.
