Summit Mount Everest Using A VR Headset

The latest trend in the tech world right now is virtual technology. It’s safe to say that the VR market has been booming as of late. All major tech manufacturers have spotted this opportunity and started producing their VR headsets in order to capitalize on this trend. Even console gamers have been able to get their hands on VR content by acquiring Sony’s PS VR. While the tech market has been filled with VR headsets offerings from different companies, other companies have started mass producing VR content.

The company that’s been producing the best VR content is CGO Studios. This company specializes in creating virtual reality experiences that take viewers back in time during major historical events. Recent reports are showing that CGO Studios is working on a new innovative project. The new project is known as “Everest ‘53” and you guessed it, it takes viewers on a trip to Everest’s peak.

Viewers will find themselves accompanied by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. These two are the first ones to ascent Mount Everest back in 1953. Worth mentioning is that CGO Studios announced that this VR project is going to be Oculus Rift exclusive. It will come out during the fourth quarter of 2017 when Oculus Touch control will be launched.

CGO Studios are known for paying close attention to all details. We can be sure that the company is going to do its best to recreate this monumental historic event in every small detail. In fact, CGO Studios are being assisted by Hillary and Tenzing Norgay’s sons. They will be able to provide CGO Studios with small details such as the tools and the equipment Sir Edmun Hillary and Tenzing Norgay used. Worth mentioning is that Peter Hillary and Jamling Tenzing Norgay have also reached Everest’s summit.

We think it’s safe to say that the future is here. We can have great experiences such as climbing the highest mountain in the world straight from our couches. Nonetheless, it’s great seeing that VR technology keeps on advancing every day. Let’s just hope that CGO Studios keep on providing us with impressive experiences such as this.
