Sony Xperia XZ Premium The Highlight Of MWC

Mobile World Congress started today and a bunch of new smartphone offerings have already been unveiled. Among all those smartphones, one of them stands out the most. The best smartphone to be launched during the first day of MWC is certainly Sony’s Xperia XZ Premium. Sadly, Sony’s smartphones are not so popular and the device didn’t manage to steal the spotlight from Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. Today we’re going to take a look at what Xperia XZ Premium has to offer and see if it is that good.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium: Display

The recipe for success when it comes to smartphone display size seems to be 5.5 inch. As everyone knows already, the most popular smartphones feature a 5.5 inch panel. Sony followed this trend and equipped its smartphone with a 5.5 inch IPS LCD panel. The display features a huge pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a large pixel density of 801 ppi. This is quite impressive and to be frank, it blows Huawei P10 Plus’s display technology out of the water.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium: Hardware Power

The most important department in every smartphone, is its hardware power department. This is why Sony decided to equip its smartphone with an impressive octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. The processor clocks at 2.45GHz and it is coupled with an Adreno 540 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM. These hardware parts are more than capable of providing users with impressive performances.

Additionally, the smartphone has been fitted with a quite large non-removable Li-Ion 3230 mAh battery. This battery has been carefully optimized so that it’s able to last for days on end. Even better, Xperia XZ Premium supports fast battery charging (Quick Charge 3.0).

Sony Xperia XZ Premium: Camera

The smartphone has been fitted with a 19MP rear camera which features PDAF, LED flash, laser autofocus and EIS sensors. It also comes with all the standard camera features such as HDR, face detection, geo-tagging and so on. On the front side we can find a smaller 13MP selfie camera which is able of recording videos in 1080p while the rear camera shoots videos in 2160p@30FPS and 720p@960FPS.
