LG Optimus G now available with online retailer for Rs. 30,990

Previously we reported that the LG Optimus G will soon be available in India and now online retailer Saholic has started selling the smartphone for Rs. 30,990. It might not be the latest smartphone from LG but the device does have some nifty features.

The LG Optimus G is the first smartphone to be powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and it is clocked at 1.5GHz. The latest Nexus smartphone known as the Google Nexus 4 is also based on the same device, however there is no word about its availability in the Indian market.

Other specifications of the Optimus G include a 4.7-inch display with a 768×1280 pixels resolution, it has 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, a 13 megapixel rear camera, a secondary front facing camera and it is equipped with a 2,100 mAh battery. It is not clear as to whether the smartphone will come pre-loaded with Android 4.0 ICS or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

This is quite a late entrant in the Indian market as it was expected to go up against the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC One X (One X+). However it is reasonably priced and will still face competition from the aforementioned.

Interestingly, LG has launched the Optimus G Pro in the international market and this device is a successor to the Optimus G and hence equipped with better hardware. We are not certain as to when will this successor arrive in the Indian market.
