Google Nexus 7 (2017) To Feature Andromeda OS

Last year the whole tech community was expecting Google to launch a brand new Nexus 7 tablet. Sadly, Google decided to delay its release. There are many speculations to why Google decided to do that. Everyone believes that Google didn’t see eye to eye with Huawei which was supposedly going to manufacture the device. While this seems plausible, there is another interesting theory. Google might just be delaying Nexus 7 so that it can install a new operating system on it.

Nexus 7 (2017): Operating System

The device’s operating system is the reason why this tablet is so highly anticipated. Rumor has it that Nexus 7 will not run on Android 7.0 Nougat and instead use Andromeda OS. In case you haven’t heard of this operating system is because it’s not out yet. Tech experts report that Andromeda OS is actually the result of combining Android OS with Chromebook OS. This means that Nexus 7 (2017) owners will have the same execution capabilities PC users have while also benefiting from all the Android exclusive apps.

Nexus 7 (2017): Hardware Specs

The tablet industry has gotten more competitive each year with all major tech companies launching their own tablets. This competition is affecting the quality of the devices as well. Companies are forced to keep on improving the hardware parts they use so that their devices can be up to par with everyone. With that being said, let’s take a look on what we can expect from Nexus 7 (2017).

Google is expected to equip the tablet with a highly powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. Even better, the chipset is presumably going to be paired with at least 4GB of RAM if not better. Evan Blass which is a known and liable leakster announced that Nexus 7 (2017) will also feature storage space that can be expanded up to 2TB.

Nexus 7 (2017): Release Date

Taking in consideration the fact that Google didn’t partner with Huawei, we can be sure that the US tech giant is looking for another partner right now. When Google does find someone worthy of producing its product we can expect that Nexus 7 (2017) will start producing right away. Nonetheless, Nexus 7 (2017) should be coming around the third quarter of 2017.

  1. True this article is retarded. It doesn’t tell us anything new, all this information has been known for a few months now. But the evidence of Andromeda OS being in the works has been around for quite some time now. And who’s to say they don’t already have the tablets built? Maybe they’re just sitting in a warehouse ready to be flashed to Andromeda.

  2. .This is the most inane story I have read yet about a product that most likely does not exist. You honestly believe that in short months Google will roll out a brand new OS on a tablet that has not been built and they don’t even have a partner to build it? I think you should go back and look at what it took for them to launch previous Nexus devices and the Pixel phones. I bet it takes the hardware partner and Google over a year to get it all right
