Google Nexus 6 – Created by Accident?

Many people are fans Nexus 6 and for good reason, since it’s a great phone and it offers awesome features. However, many people know what a Google employee confessed some time ago in an interview about this model. According to his statement, there was no intention whatsoever for the company to use Motorola Moto S, so Nexus 6 happened by accident.

Moreover, he added that if the director of the Android Silver program wouldn’t have resigned, the production for the Nexus 6 model would have been completely different. The Android Silver was closed after the head of the department quit, which meant that they had to throw away various devices they had been planning. As it seems, one of the phones that escaped the clearing was Moto S.

Then, the employee explained that the team chose the Moto S plans and changed their title to Nexus 6, right at the last minute. However, if the Android Silver program would miraculously continue, we would still see another type of Nexus 6. Even more so, the Nexus program could have ended with the Nexus 5 model.

Nexus 6 measures 159.3x83x10.1 mm and it weighs 184 g. It features a 5.96 inches AMOLED screen that has a 1440×2560 pixels resolutions with an index of 493 ppi. The back camera is a 13 MP one and it sports dual-LED flash. Moreover, it can record 2160 p video, which is great. It comes in two storage options, 32 or 64 GB, and it runs on a 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core Krait 450 processor, paired with 3 GB RAM and an Adreno 420 GPU to complete it. The operating system is Android 5.0 Lollipop, and when it comes to connectivity it offers microUSB, NFC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

  1. I have a love/hate relationship with my Nexus 6, just because I can’t to get rid of it. It’s that good.

  2. This is the best phone I have every got even better than the iPhones I have and I still own!! Flashing custom Roms enjoying every bit of Android open source flexibility. No waiting for jailbreak , problems of unlocking bootloader, resetting counters etc etc. Love at first site and moreover I got it in a give away prize????

  3. I got one and by dropping a moto G and a nextbook tablet
I have more room, better performance and no regrets after 2 years
it looks like it will serve me two more years without issue

  4. Moto Nexus 6 is TOO big. So, I bought the 5.2″ 1440p AMOLED version Motorola released as the Moto XT1225. 95% same specs but a more reasonable size:
5.2″, 1440p AMOLED, Snapdragon 805, 3GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, turbo charging (QuickCharge 2.0), Qi wireless charging, 21MP camera. PLUS, kevlar back overlaid with ballistic nylon. Will stop a bullet for you in a dodgy neighborhood! LTE BANDS 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 17.
