IBM releases new Cloud Machines for Small and Medium Businesses
IBM has released new storage machines which include 8 new Power Systems, 3 PureSystem Models and a few more. This is a new affordable range of cloud-storage machines targeted towards small and medium business enterprises.
The new systems use IBM’s POWER7+ technology which is better than the current trend of x86 processors. New releases include PowerLinux systems – 7R1 and 7R2, which will make optimum functionality of these machines possible by usage of IBM’s software solutions. The all new IBM POWER Processors are quite suitable for high-end analytics and cloud services.
These machines are used by IBM themselves to power its own processes (http://www-03.ibm.com/innovation/us/watson/) and is releasing them for the market post the testing and tweaking. IBM is using Linux to make this technology affordable and proves that they are innovators time and again.
