Microsoft adds Xolo, Karbonn and Lava as new Windows Phone hardware partners
Microsoft is certainly looking to improve its Windows phone market and this might be a huge year for the platform. The company has included new hardware partners which will bring Windows Phone based devices in many untapped markets, especially in India.
On the global scale, Microsoft has already tied up with partners like LG, Huawei, Lenovo and ZTE for a stronger global reach for their Windows Phone based products in addition to the likes of HTC, Nokia and Samsung.
The company now seems interested to further hit the Indian market, especially in the affordable smartphone segment as they have announced new partners from India. These include Xolo, Lava and Karbonn, sadly no Micromax, yet.
Microsoft has also mentioned that Windows Phones will soon support the Snapdragon 200, Snapdragon 400 and the Snapdragon 400 LTE chipsets. The company has also revealed Windows Phone devices with dual-SIM capabilities which tells us a lot about the interest of Microsoft in being a part of that specific market.
Recently the company also announced an update for Windows 8.1 which debuts Facebook Messenger on the Windows phone platform amongst other features. We hope the company keeps pushing some great improvements over the year to strengthen their mobile platform.
