Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – Sony Confirmed Millions Of Units Sold
The last year was a great one for Sony in terms of PS4 sales. During CES 2017, Sony announced that it managed to sale over 53 million of PS4 units. The company’s sales percentages boomed during the Black Friday event, especially since the gaming console was bundled with Uncharted 4. In fact, Sony also reported that around 8.7 million units which were bundle with Uncharted 4 were sold.
What’s even more amazing is that Uncharted 4 is PS4 exclusive. The only other company which produces exclusive titles and has this much success is Nintendo. Naughty Dog, the game producer has definitely managed to generate huge amounts of profits with the Uncharted franchise. There are four installments in the franchise and Uncharted 4 is the last one, this might have also influenced customers to acquire the game. Nonetheless, the other installments also sold really well with 5 million units for the first one, 6.6 and 6.7 million for the other two.
Uncharted 4 didn’t only sell well it also received a lot of praise being considered as one of the best games of 2016. In fact, the gaming community was upset when the game didn’t win the GOTY (game of the year) award. Also worth mentioning is that no other company makes their sales percentages public the way Sony does, but with these impressive stats, we’d be bragging too.
Fans of the franchise should be happy to hear that while this might be the last installment in the franchise, Naughty Dog announced that a new DLC will be coming during this year. Regarding the DLC, rumors and speculations are showing that this time, players will continue the story without Nathan Drake.
