Nexus 6P vs HTC 10 – Which Android Phone Is Better?

Nexus 6P vs HTC 10

HTC is one of Google’s OEMs and this means that its flagships are privileged to receive the latest Android updates. The Taiwanese manufacturer managed to release Nougat to its HTC 10, giving users a taste of the new features such as multi-window mode, bundled notifications and many more. But how does this handset compare to the Nexus 6P, the phone that Huawei has built for Google?

The Nexus 6P was the first full metal smartphone with a premium look that Google has released in 2015, being a lot more beautiful than the bulky Nexus 6 created by Motorola. The Nexus 6P has a wide horizontal protruding strip made of black glass running across the top of the back, where you can find the camera, and much lower is placed the fingerprint scanner. You should be careful not to drop the phone on its back, because you’ll risk cracking the glass. On the other hand, the HTC 10 has a similar design as its predecessor, it’s also made of metal, but it has diamond cuts that give the impression that the device is levitating when it’s sitting on a surface.

The Nexus 6P has a much larger 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display with a good contrast, brightness, saturation etc. The HTC 10 has a 5.2-inch QHD Super LCD5 display with no on-screen capacitive buttons, and the bezel bars have been removed.

The Nexus 6P is one year older than its rival, so it’s powered by a Snapdragon 810 octa core (4×1.55 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A57) processor that’s very fast, responsive and offers a reliable performance. The processor is backed by an Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM and this combination allows you to play graphic-intensive games. The HTC 10 has received the newer Snapdragon 820 quad core (2×2.15 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) processor, which supports 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 530 GPU. In terms of internal storage, while the Nexus 6P offers three variants of 32, 64 and 128GB, which can’t be expanded, the HTC 10 offers a microSD card slot and two variants of 32GB and 64GB.

Cameras and Batteries

The Nexus 6P has a 12.3 MP rear camera with laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, and an aperture of f / 2.0, while the secondary camera is 8MP and the battery is massive, with a capacity of 3450mAh. The HTC 10 has the same camera sensor: Sony IMX377, but a larger aperture of f / 1.8, and it offers optical image stabilization. The secondary camera has a lower resolution of 5MP, but it supports OIS, while the battery has a capacity of 3000mAh.
