Damon Sicore, Senior Director of Platform Engineering at Mozilla has announced that Firefox 4 is currently in its final development stages. According to Sicore, about 160 known bugs are still remaining in the software and a release candidate will be made available when this number cuts down to 100 known bugs. Due to the high bug count another beta would be released with the intention to get this count to zero.

One of the key features of Mozilla Firefox 4 is crash protection which means the browser won’t crash if a pulg-in fails. People will be testing the browser with Sliverlight, Flash and most of the major plug-ins so that crash protection does not fail after the release.
Some other features include improved speed, ‘Do Not Track’ capabilities and an improved user interface. This new Firefox build is expected to be available sometime late February.
