Micromax launches Smarty A65 4.3 and Smarty A54 Android smartphones
Micromax has launched two new affordable Android based smartphone which are priced under Rs. 5,000. These devices include the Micromax Smarty A65 4.3 and the Micromax Smarty A54 both of which are up for grabs with online retailers.
The Micromax Smarty A54 was first spotted with online retailer Infibeam and with the price tag of Rs. 4,659 it is more affordable smartphone than the other one. The device sports a 3.5-inch HVGA resolution capacitive touchscreen, it has dual-SIM capability but it runs a pre-historic version of Android which is known as Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Apart from this the Smarty A54 is powered by a single-core Qualcomm processor which is clocked at 1GHz, it has a 3 megapixel rear camera and a 1,300 mAh battery. It has no 3G connectivity, but Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is available with the device.
The Micromax Smarty A65 4.3 is a slightly better device, as the name suggests it sports a 4.3-inch display with WVGA resolution. The device is officially priced at Rs. 4,999 and it is the first Android smartphone from Micromax which runs Spreadtrum’s chipset after the company invested $10 million in Micromax last year.
It has a single-core 1GHz Cortex A5 processor, 512MB of RAM, 192MB of internal storage, a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera. It is a dual-SIM capable device which does not support 3G, however does have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options.
Just like the Smarty A54, this device also runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It is quite obvious that we can’t expect phones which are equipped with the most basic (or sometimes primitive) hardware to run recent versions of the Android mobile operating system.
