Honor 5X vs Honor 6X – Is There Really A Need For Upgrading?
Having just being recently released at the Consumer Electronics Show, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor 6X is sure to make some waves this year as it is believed to be the most promising mid-range smartphone of this year. We’ve come up with a comparison with its older sibling, the Honor 5X to shed some light over whether should you make the upgrade or not.
Not much was improved by the next generation Honor 6X but some better hardware than its predecessor is to be found in this new device. It is powered by a Kirin 655 octa core chip paired with 3GB of RAM. It also has a 4GB RAM variant but you will have to pay more for it. Regarding storage, there are two options, that of 32GB and 64GB and they are both expandable. You’ll have to pay $50 more from the basic price to have these little upgrades.
The Honor 5X came packed with a 3000 mAh battery and it had some good software optimization in order for it to last a long time. The Honor 6X’s battery has been bumped up to 3340 mAh and it promises to get you through almost two days of using the device.
Unlike its predecessor which came equipped with an average 13MP camera, the new Honor 6X sports a dual camera build with a main camera of 12MP and the other one which is designed for depth of field effects measures 2MP. Its front camera is also impressive as it packs a whopping 8MP.
Is it worth upgrading?
The Honor 6X should be definitely regarded as a future upgrade if you already own the Honor 5X and want to stay in the same lineup as it packs more power and even a bigger battery which will last you longer. Its camera has heavily been improved and considering it comes with a midrange price tag of under $250 it should be taken into consideration.
