Gateway Updates PCs with latest Sandy Bridge Processors



Gateway has updated its DX and FX range of desktops PC’s with Intel’s newly released Sandy bridge 2nd generation Core i5 and Core 7 processors. The FX series includes high performance desktops while the DX range is a multimedia oriented range of desktops PCs from Gateway.

These PCs with the new upgrades will go on sale this week, and will have Intel’s Core i7 2600 on the new FX6850-51 and the Core i5 and other options on the new DX4350-43, DX4850-27e and DX4950-45. With Intel’s new H67 Express Chipset, up to 8GB of RAM is supported with an option of Blu-ray and 1TB or 1.5TB of standard HDD.

The DX series will have an option of NVIDIA GeForce graphics or Intel HD Graphics 2000, while the FX6850-51 will come with NVIDIA’s GeForce GT440 GPU with 1GB of memory. The SX series which includes compact desktops has also received and update with options ranging from Intel and AMD processors. This obviously comes in a compact chassis with a top-mounted bay where you can put your phone for charging.

The pricing for the FX6850-51 starts from $999.99, the DX series starts from $599.99 to $749.99 while finally the SX series starts from $499.99 to $549.99.
