The Indian mobile market is getting really crowded these past months, with new devices being released every new week. After we’ve seen the OnePlus One being officially made available on Amazon.in, a new smartphone maker has decided to partner with the giant online retailer.

The ZTE Grand S II  can now be purchased in India exclusively through online retailer Amazon, being available at a price of Rs 13999. Announced at the beginning of this year, the smartphone has landed just now for Indian customers.

The biggest downside is that it runs Mifavor UI on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS, not even KitKat, in a time when Lollipop is on everybody’s lips (see what I did there?). However, judging by its price and specs, it seems that this handset will take on the 2014 Moto G edition.

ZTE’s phablet features a 5.5-inch 1080p full HD resolution display, being powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of storage space, but it can be extended up to 32GB with the traditional microSD card.

The handset gets a non-removable Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery that should offer a talk time of 6 hours and standby time of 200 hours. It also comes with two cameras: a 13MP rear one and a 5MP front one. The handset is 7.7mm thin and weights 118 grams. Other features of the device include Dolby Digital Plus sound effect, the SmartShow feature for dual screen multitasking, Kids Mode, Glove Mode and others.

Albeit the competition is tough, this smartphone does come with some interesting features that could appeal to features, such as great performance and a good camera, if we take into account the affordable price that it carries.
