Soon, there won’t bee too many Nokia Lumia smartphones on the market, as Microsoft has started rebranding all the Lumia smartphones to carry its name. But there are some recently announced handsets that are still being released in new markets.

Such is the case with the Nokia Lumia 530, which is now available for purchase to those in the United Kingdom. If I’m not mistaken, this is the last Nokia-branded smartphone that was announced before the Microsoft Lumia 535 was unveiled.

The Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone is being promoted as one of Microsoft’s most ‘affordable’ smartphones, and you can now buy in the United Kingdom from or Carephone Waterhouse.

Pricing seems to fluctuate, but at the moment the cheapest version is green Nokia Lumia 530 SIM-Free which can be bought for £60.00. But the green version also seems to be the most popular one, as there are just a few units left in stock.

While Carephone Waterhouse doesn’t sell the handset unlocked for such a good price, it currently has a flash sale where you can get the device along with a carrier plan from £7.50 per month. If you want it SIM-free, you will have to pay £89.95 for it.

The Lumia 530 features a 4-inch FWVGA LCD display, and a 5MP rear camera. A 1.2GHz quad-core processor, along with a 512MB RAM is powering the phone. The 4GB internal storage can be expanded up to 32GB via an micro SD card, but there is also 15GB of free One Drive cloud storage. The battery is said to offer a maximum talk-time of up to 10 hours on 3G networks, and nearly 14 hours on 2G carriers, after one charge.

In the United Kingdom, the Lumia 530 will compete against other Android smartphones like the Moto E, Moto G and also he recently released Karbonn Google Android One budget smartphones.

Microsoft will probably try to release the smartphone at a similar price or maybe even cheaper in more countries across the world. Therefore, keep an eye out if you an upgrade to the |Nokia Lumia 520.
