Barnes & Noble has started sending out invites to the press for its upcoming Nook event which is scheduled for November 7 in New York. There have been rumors about the Nook Color 2 which is expected to be launched at this event and it indeed seems so.

Well, it is yet to see if the Nook Color 2 will give any competition to the recently release Amazon Kindle Fire tablet. The Nook Color 2 however is expected to be a much significant upgrade to the previous generation. It is expected to have improved hardware as well as software, but there is no enough information about the specifications of this tablet device.
It is expected to come with Barnes & Noble’s very own appstore and a completely customized build of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Amazon has already set a tough challenge for B&N by pricing the Kindle Fire at $199.
