Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.4 Update Arrives this October, No News of Lollipop
Samsung Galaxy S5 is an amazing smartphone, and according to the latest leak, this phone will get even better with Android 4.4.4 update that is scheduled for this month.
Samsung Galaxy S5 was released in April and it comes with 5-inch Full HD 432 ppi capacitive touchscreen. Regarding the hardware, this smartphone comes with Exynos Octa 5420 1.9GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage space.
Of course, there is microSD card slot for expansion that supports cards up to 128GB. Regarding the software, Galaxy S5 runs on Android 4.4.2 with TouchWiz UI, but according to the latest leaked news we’ll see update to Android 4.4.4 soon.
The testing of Android 4.4.4 for Galaxy S5 has been completed, and both Asian (G900I) and European (900F) version of the device will get the Android update.
Bear in mind that unlocked model will be the first to receive the new update since carries have to delay new firmware for further testing.
As for the update process, it’s should be quite straightforward: as soon as the system update message shows up in the notification bar you just need to tap it, choose “Download Now” and then “Install now” after the download has been completed.
Your device should reboot after that meaning that you have successfully completed the update. In case you miss the system notification update you can do it manually by going into Settings > More > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.
Or if you prefer, you can get the USB cable and check for the update via KIES. Sadly, we don’t know anything about the changes that this update will bring, but we don’t expect anything major besides patching bugs, improving security and system performance.
Also bear in mind that this update is about 300MB so make sure that you download it on a stable network connection.
It’s good to see that Samsung Galaxy S5 is getting updated with new version of Android, and as for update it should take place some time in October.
