Millennial Media has released their Mobile Mix report for August and it is no surprise that Android and iOS are the leading and at the same time growing. However others mobile operating system market share continue to drop. The report shows that Android currently leads with 54 percent of the total market share, followed by iOS at 28 percent and RIM’s BlackBerry OS at 13 percent.

Growth is very apparent in iOS and Android, Microsoft’s Windows Phone and Nokia’s Symbian contribute 1 percent each and the remaining 3 percent include the remaining platforms. The Mobile Mix report also includes the top 20 handsets, where the iPhone leads amongst others, 15 Android smartphones and BlackBerry Curve, Torch, Bold and Pearl.
HTC stands at number two amongst the top 15 manufacturers. The report also includes tablets, handhelds, gaming devices, MP3 players and other connected devices. Apparently, smartphone contribute to 72 percent of the market while connected devices and features phone make up 14 percent each.
