Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Leaked

The upcoming version of Android, known as Ice Cream Sandwich 2.4 (or 4.0), is expected to be launched in the end of this year. This is a highly anticipated Android version, which is expected to unite the tablet and smartphones experiences.

Now, the guys at RootzWiki and Android Police have got a glimpse of this upcoming Android version. The guys have mentioned that ICS will sport a new app launcher, a new blue colored theme and other features which are listed below.

  • Blue Themed UI.
  • Camera with built-in Panorama mode.
  • Includes Google Shopper and NFC Enabled devices could use these features.
  • A revamped version of Gmail.
  • Major UI improvements and would be available for devices which are about a year old.
  • Changes to launcher and App Drawer.
  • Search bar embedded on the top like Android Honeycomb.

Well, the Ice Cream Sandwich would be available for Nexus S. However, it is expected to first make its way to the market on the Nexus Prime which is expected to be the upcoming flagship Google smartphone.

This is a quite an early built of ICS, so expect a few other changes once its hits the market.

Hopefully there is work being done on the quality of apps on the market place (I know this is not really related to this specific release). I also hope this helps the platform become less fragmented.
