For all of you next-gen gamers waiting for Sleeping Dogs to release for your beloved consoles, we have good news for you: Square Enix has officially announced Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition for the Xbox One and the PS4 alongside a PC version.

According to the current Amazon listing of the title, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition includes the title plus previously released DLC worth over $85. Those who pre-order the Definitive edition will also receive a limited edition art book alongside a boxed retail copy.

Apart from the physical perks, the Definitive Edition also has a lot of in-game enhancements, as described by senior producer Dan Sochan below:

“We’re giving old and new fans a lot reasons to pick up the game, as we’ve gone beyond just increasing resolution and running at 1080p. We listened to the fans: we tuned gameplay, we added to the ambience of Hong Kong, increased audio fidelity and pushed the visuals further than we could on the previous generation of consoles.”

Sleeping Dogs was originally being developed as True Crime: Hong Kong was originally to be published by publisher Activision, but was cancelled due to the development costs and delays.

Square Enix later acquired publishing rights and released the game as Sleeping Dogs in 2012. The move proved to be of much advantage to Square Enix. The game sold over 1.5 copies through its first month, much to the delight of the publisher.

The title was also praised by many game reviewers, with the accurate depiction of Hong Kong being praised worldwide. Developer United Front is also working on a sequel to Sleeping Dogs called Triad Wars.

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will be released on October 10 in Europe and on October 14 in North America. Be sure to check out the trailer of the game below.
