The All-New 2014 Hyundai i20 Gets Released With Many Improvements
Hyundai has announced some official photos and preliminary specifications of the second generation of the Hyundai i20 model. Design of the vehicles from the second generation of i20 is almost completely different from the first generation, with some aesthetic and technical improvements.
Although we could discuss about the design originality of the new Hyundai i20, there’s no doubt that Hyundai made a huge shift compared to the first generation of this vehicle. Placed on the new platform, the car now has extended length of 4.035 mm, and more importantly the distance between has been increased.
Distance between front and rear wheels is now 2.570 mm, so the ride will be more comfortable to passengers. Besides that, the new, expanded trunk of 320 l will be available to the owners of the new Hyundai i20, as well. Versions with richer packages will offer LED headlights and brake lights, rear camera, and movable panoramic roof.
We’ll have to wait a little more for the photos of the car’s interior, but Hyundai has announced that the i20 will have a new, multifunctional steering wheel, adjustable in two directions, vents, air conditioning system for passengers on the backseat, armrest between driver’s and passenger’s seat and adjustable driver’s seat. The vehicle will be equipped with a new Supervision instrument table, USB and AUX connectors, as well as Bluetooth connection.
For now, it is still unknown which engines will be available in Europe, but it is known that the model for the Indian market will be equipped with 1.2 l gasoline, with 83 hp and 1.4 l CRDi diesel engine which produces 90 hp.
