On Friday, Samsung suggested that its 7-inch Android tablet, Galaxy Tab may be launched in the next two weeks. The company also confirmed that the tablet will start shipping before the end of summer, and a special event on August 11 could include the Galaxy Tab. According to the invitation there would be “new products and announcements” and not just existing products at this event.

Also, it is very unlikely that Samsung may launch any major phone this early as we recently saw the Galaxy S and Samsung does not seem to have any upcoming smartphones in the pipeline. All this suggest that we may see the Galaxy Tab very soon. The tablet may be running Android 2.2 and may use a Super AMOLED screen. It is rumored to have a 1.2GHz processor, 3.2-megapixel rear camera and a front facing VGA camera, 16GB of internal storage with microSDHC slot.

Not much is known about the device but it can possibly turn out to be a decent tablet. It is really difficult to speculate how good this tablet will be, but we will let you know once it is available officially.
