Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P – Quick DIY Bootloop Fix
It’s safe to say that Nexus 5X and 6P are two of Google’s most popular smartphones ever made. Both of them offer high hardware performances and they are also quite affordable when compared with what other tech companies have to offer. However, this doesn’t mean that Nexus 5X and 6P are flawless because both share the same problem and that’s’ the dreaded bootloop mode.
In case you own a Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P and don’t know what the bootloop mode is then you should consider yourself lucky. The first time we heard complaints about this mode was last year but they keep on piling up nowadays. This mode basically causes the affected smartphone to keep on restarting itself thus being rendered useless. The worst thing about this mode is that owners who don’t have warranty on their devices are not able to replace them and neither Google nor its manufacturing partners are offering to repair them.
How to Fix It
Fortunately, Android users are known to be quite savvy when it comes to fixing smartphones and a developer actually found a way to fix this annoying malfunctioning. The developer is a XDA Forum user and he is known under the “XCnathan32” tag. The way in which Nexus 5X and 6P owners can get rid of the dreaded bootloop mode is by stopping all the performance cores of the devices. This helps because it allows the device to finally boot once again.
Worth mentioning is that this fix does have a side effect and it will cause the smartphone to be a little laggy, but that’s way better than not functioning at all. At the moment, this quick fix was tested only on the developer’s personal Nexus 6P but someone from the XDA Forum will surely test it on a Nexus 5X in the upcoming future.
