Microsoft Kinect will skip China
Microsoft has now confirmed that the Kinect will not be going to China this year or anytime in the future. Kinect is a really awesome technology for casual gamers and it has excited many people around the globe.
Michel Van Der Bel, Microsoft’s COO is China, said that the technology was the latest to fall foul on a government notice back in June 2000, where the Ministry of Culture had banned gaming equipment in the country. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are also a ban in the country. However, Nintendo has managed to go on sale in the region.
Van Der Bel has not mentioned that Microsoft has interest in challenging the government, but would instead cooperate with the law. This is really sad for the Chinese gamers probably things may be different in a few years.
