Acer Iconia A100 Android Honeycomb Tablet Launching in September

The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is one affordable Android Honeycomb tablet available in the markets. However, there is yet another highly anticipated tablet device from the same manufacturer. We are referring to its 7-inch counterpart known as the Acer Iconia A100.

We already know Google is preparing Android 3.2 Honeycomb for 7-inch tablet devices, courtesy Huawei. This upcoming version of Android Honeycomb is expected soon. Acer Germany has recently announced via Facebook that the Iconia A100 would launch sometime in the month of September, though it was supposed to launch earlier.

Prototypes of this device are already out running Android 3.0.1 Honeycomb, and we have spent time with one of them. Hence, we are quite interested to see what Android 3.2 Honeycomb has to offer.

The Iconia Tab A100 is powered by a dual core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, it has 512MB of RAM and comes in 8GB or 16GB of storage capacities. We are not sure on the pricing of the device, but it seems that the 8GB model would be priced round 24,000 INR and the 16GB may go up for 28,000 INR.

Other 7-inch Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablets are the ViewPad 7x from ViewSonic and the Huawei MediaPad.
