Nexus 5X Runs Better than Ever with 4GB RAM
The reason why Google’s Nexus line of smartphones is considered as being a fan favorite is because all of them are highly customizable. First off, all of them run on Android OS which uses an open-source code. However, a recent report is showing that smartphones such as Nexus 5X can actually have their hardware modified. The report we are talking about is saying that a Nexus 5X owner managed to equip his smartphone with 4GB of RAM.
What’s interesting is that the only reason why the Nexus 5X owner was able to upgrade his RAM memory was because the smartphone in cause went into the dreaded bootloop mode. This malfunction causes the smartphone to randomly power down which depletes its battery. The owner of the affected smartphone called LG for repairs and the South Korean tech giant refused. This is when the owner was forced to find a third party repair shop.
The affected smartphone was sent to a repairman in China who suggested that he could also upgrade the smartphone’s RAM memory while he is repairing it. The best thing about this though is the fact that the Chinese repairmen only charged $60.
Nexus 5X with 4GB RAM
The Nexus 5X owner claims that his smartphone now runs better than ever. He even installed Android 7.1.1 Nougat on it. Numerous people believed that altering a smartphone’s hardware specs will actually cause it to malfunction but as everyone can see, this isn’t the case.
Because we are talking about upgrading Nexus 5X’s specs, we are going to take a look under its hood and remind ourselves what Nexus 5X has to offer. The smartphone has been fitted with a 5.2 inch IPS LCD display which features a full HD pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a pixel density of 423 ppi.
In terms of hardware power, Nexus 5X is fueled by Qualcomm’s hexa-core Snapdragon 808. The CPU has been clocked at 1.8GHz and it is paired with only 2GB of RAM. However, as everyone can see the RAM memory can be simply upgraded to 4GB with only $60.
