I love the Kinect and more than its games, I enjoy it for the numerous hacks created using this devices, including the recent one where a guy controls his Tata Sky, which is so simple yet entertaining. Now, it just got more interesting as Microsoft has finally confirmed that the company would be releasing the Kinect for Windows SDK.

This was already rumored before, but now the guys have made it official and according to them, it will be available free for download and sometime this Spring. The SDK will allow folks to do some more crazy stuff with the device as it will enable you to access the audio technology, system application programming interfaces and direct control for Kinect sensor.
Commercial licensing will be detailed later, and it seems like quite a potential monetization option for developers with creativity.
