HMD Global Confirmed That Doesn’t Use Flash Sale

The smartphone industry was taken by storm right when 2017 started. The Finnish smartphone manufacturer decided to make a comeback and launch the highly popular Nokia 6. The device was launched in China and it sold out in less than one minute. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Nokia 6 was launched only in China. The reason behind this is that China has the double the amount of smartphone users that the US has.

Nokia 6 was actually launched a second time and it ran out of stock again in a just couple of minutes. The Finnish manufacturer announced that there were over 1.4 million registered customers for Nokia 6’s second sale. Because Nokia 6 sold so quick during both sales, everyone started to believe that Nokia is using a flash sale model. The same way Lenovo and Xiaomi are doing. The problem with this is that it’s hard to tell how many units were actually sold. Some companies use this sale model so that their devices seem popular than they actually are.

These speculations angered HMD Global which is the owner of Nokia. The company went ahead and officially announced that it’s not using a flash sale model. Additionally, HMD Global confirmed that it was required to restock all of its units three times because they sold so fast. A HMD Global representative went on an interview and stated that the reason why everyone believes the company is doing flash sales is because its smartphones sell really fast.

The reason why Nokia 6 is so highly popular is because it provides users with impressive hardware performances for a rather cheap price of $274. The smartphone ships with a large 5.5 inch full HD panel that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Additionally, the display is fitted with 2.5D curved glass Corning Gorilla Glass.

Regarding hardware performances Nokia 6 is quite impressive. The smartphone is fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 chipset. The processor is coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage space that can be expanded via a microSD card. Worth mentioning is that Nokia 6 runs on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. This is quite important since it provides users with a bunch of innovative features.
