Just recently, Facebook made a slight update in their code. This update allowed developers to access users’ phone numbers and address, if the user agrees to share the information with the application. Now Facebook has posted a new entry on its developer blog which comes in response to the concerns raised by users regarding the recent changes in privacy.

The guys have now stopped this feature and will make it go live sometime in the future when there is a better way to make users aware of their privacy settings. Users seemed extremely unhappy and felt insecure with this new change as the most important personal data would be shared with third party applications, this resulted in an outcry forcing Facebook to stop this feature.
These new changes will go live in the next few weeks and the entire change log is not yet available.
