BlackBerry slashes Q5 price in India now priced at Rs 19,990
In a new promotional offer which the call the New Year Bonanza, BlackBerry has announced discounted pricing for the BB10 based BlackBerry Q5 smartphone.
The device launched with a Rs 24,990 price tag and with the discount in place you can now purchase it for Rs 19,990. This is a 20 percent price cut and probably yet another attempt by the ailing company to get some new customers.
While the company claims this to be a promotional offer, earlier reports suggest that BlackBerry would soon be cutting down the prices of its phones. Moreover, we know that the company had witnessed a loss of $800 million in just the last quarter and has been working on ways to sell those extra units of its phones.
This is not the first attempt by the company to offer discounts on its devices to boost sales. We have seen this previously in the Indian market with the price cut on the BlackBerry Q10.
The BlackBerry Q5 is a BlackBerry OS 10 based smartphone which sports a QWERTY keypad under its 3.1-inch display with a 720×720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and includes 2GB of RAM.
